When WiFi cameras make sense
A WiFi camera is the default choice for most home users. It connects to your existing router, records locally to a microSD card (no mandatory monthly fee) and provides high-quality video.
You have good WiFi signal at the installation point. The camera is within 15โ20 metres of the router (or you can use a WiFi extender). You want to avoid monthly SIM costs. You want the best possible image quality.
There's no internet at the installation location (farm, rural property). The signal doesn't reach (more than 30m from router without extender). You need it to work even when your broadband goes down.
