SIM-based GPS (Tractive, Pawfit) need mobile coverage to send the position to your phone. Without coverage, the GPS knows where it is but can't send you the position until the dog (or you) gets coverage. For areas without coverage, the Garmin T5/TT15 uses radio and works without a network.
In live tracking mode, Tractive updates every 2–3 seconds. In normal mode it updates every 1–5 minutes to save battery. You can activate live mode when your dog escapes to follow them in real time.
