The real situation
No WiFi router and no accessible power outlet โ but technology exists designed exactly for this, requiring no works, cables or technicians.
A 4G solar camera works completely autonomously: own SIM connection, own solar power, own microSD storage. No dependency on your home network.
The 4 system components
1. The 4G camera
Must have a nano SIM slot and 4G/LTE support. For a farm, models with colour night vision and person detection (not just motion) are most useful.
2. The SIM card
Any operator works. Verify 4G coverage at the exact installation point before buying. A 1โ3 GB monthly plan is enough. Cost: โฌ3โ8/month.
3. The solar panel
Many cameras include a small integrated panel. For shaded areas or cloudy winters, a 5โ10W external panel greatly improves autonomy.
4. The microSD card
128 GB class 10 stores 15โ30 days of events. Overwrites oldest files automatically when full.

The 5 most common mistakes
Take your phone to the exact installation spot. Even if 4G exists in the nearest town, it may not reach your farm.
Even partial shade drastically reduces generation. Find a spot with direct sun all day.
A WiFi camera needs to be within range of a router. Without one on the farm, WiFi is useless.
Use SanDisk Endurance or Samsung Pro Endurance โ designed for continuous writing.
Without zones, you get alerts for wind, animals and distant cars. Configure zones to only alert on people at access points.
